What is JukeBooster?

JukeBooster is a TouchTunes feature that plays 15-second promotional audio clips from popular artists to raise jukebox awareness, encourage mobile app downloads, and drive more plays. It is designed to seamlessly integrate into a venue’s music experience, promoting jukebox engagement without disrupting paid plays.


Why are we offering JukeBooster?

In 2024, we tested JukeBooster on over 10,000 jukeboxes under the original name SoundClips.

Results showed:
✔ Increased awareness and engagement
✔ Higher mobile app downloads
✔ More paid plays
✔ Minimal opt-outs

Based on this success, we productized SoundClips into the JukeBooster feature in OS2.

How does JukeBooster work?

Timing: A promotional audio clip plays 5 minutes after the last paid play and then once per hour when no paid songs are in the paid play queue.

Placement: Audio clips only play when the jukebox is idle, during CMP Background Music mode or during TV/Aux mode (not between paid plays).

Control: JukeBooster is an OS2 setting that can now be managed through Tempo at the venue level:

  • Navigate to Music > Settings > JukeBooster
  • Adjust audio clip frequency
  • Schedule when JukeBooster will be active (e.g. time of day, days of week)
  • Turn JukeBooster on or off in real-time
  • At this time, you are not able to choose which artists play in your venue, but we hope to add additional functionality in the future

By default, the audio messages are set to the same volume level as the juke.  If you are using Aux or CMP at a location with a lower volume and the clips sound much louder that the your music/sound source, you can manually adjust those volumes at the jukebox by navigating to the managers menu > sound mixer screen per zone. This feature is not yet in Tempo, so tech support can also manipulate these settings remotely for you if needed!

   

 When did JukeBooster launch?

JukeBooster rolled out as a new setting to all OS2 jukeboxes early March 2025.

* Note, JukeBooster it is not yet available for National Account jukeboxes.

Do I need to do anything to enable JukeBooster?

No action is required. TouchTunes automatically enabled JukeBooster at all eligible locations and will rotate artists on participating jukeboxes regularly to keep the content fresh and relevant.
